Building Update

Our trim started ten days ago and it should hopefully be finished by this week.  While our granite was suppose to be installed last week, it was delayed because our butlers pantry cabinets were not installed yet.  The rest of the cabinets and the granite should be installed this week and also our upper deck is also scheduled to start.

We are 46 days away from our scheduled move in date.  I am beyond excited but also very overwhelmed by the amount of items on the to do list that still needs to be completed.

Britt James- 20 Weeks Old

Time is flying by and our chunky monkey turned 20 weeks old on Thursday.  I say it everyday but this little man is the best baby and makes being a mommy to two children so easy.  Britt wakes up and will lay in his crib and coo and laugh until we get him.  Then his day is all smiles and rainbows unless he is overly tired.

I feel like he is already getting his first tooth from the amount of drool and chewing on things that he is doing but so far nothing has popped out yet.  Ava did not get her first tooth until she was 11 months old so we will see.

Love this little man!

Building Update

The last two weeks have been so busy at our home with workers in and out and it is finally starting to look like a home and I am looking forward to spending our mornings and evenings on our new screened in porch and enjoying the peacefullness of our street.

This week our driveway and sidewalk was poured, our lot was graded, the tile is still being installed, and the trim carpenters are installing our moldings, closets, and built ins.  Last week our cabinets were installed, minus the butlers pantry, and I am so happy with our selections.  Next week the trim should be finished and the granite is scheduled to be installed on Friday.

We have met the majority of our new neighbors and was already invited to a community cook out.  There are so many children on this street that are always outside playing and I am so happy that we made the decision to build this home because I know it will be a fun place for our children to grow up.

Britt James- 19 weeks old

This last weekend we drove down to Atlanta to introduce Britt to his wife, Emmeline Blake, who turned a month old on the Saturday that we were in town.  Emme is the baby of our besties and we had a fun weekend hanging out with our families.  While Britt is only 15 weeks older than Emme, he looks like a little chuck compared to her.  We left Ava at Grandpa and Grandma K's and even though we were managing two babies, the boys were able to play 18 holes of golf and then the girls went out for lunch and mani/pedi's and we ended the day with a group activity at Top Shot where the boys got a little more golf in.

Ava Marie

Our sweet little girl is growing by leaps and bounds and she continues to amazes us everyday by what she is learning.  I have enrolled her in a summer soccer program which she is taking once a week at school.  She had her first class on Tuesday and she was most excited about getting a stamp on her hand and told us that she sat on a ball during class.  We are hopefully that by the end of it she is actually kicking the ball around and has some coordination with it.

Ava continues to be a sweet big sister and loves to make her brother smile and laugh.  She will run in his room in the morning and talk to him and she makes sure that she gives him kisses each night before he goes to bed.

Ava says the dinner prayer each night and we enjoy singing songs now before she goes to bed.  The other night she was finished with her bath and she stayed in to tuck her Ariel bath doll in bed.  She used two washcloths, one as a pillow and the other has a blanket, to tuck her in.  She then sang Ariel our nighttime prayer and ended it with God bless Ariel, God bless Ava, God bless Daddy, God bless Britt, God bless Mommy and then leaned over and kissed Ariel goodnight.  It was the sweetest thing and I love that Ava is such a loving child not only to us but also her toys.

Britt James- 18 weeks

This past week was a big week for Britt, after a couple of weeks at working at it he successfully rolled over from his back to his belly.  He is also doing a great job at sleeping at night and for the last week we have not heard a peep from him in the night and will lay in bed and happily coo until we come and get him out of his bed.  I am so happy that he is a good sleeper and has learned to self soothe himself if he does wake up.  Love this little man to pieces!

Britt James- 4 months old

Our sweet little man turned four months old on Friday and he continues to be a blessing and joy in our household.  This past month he has mastered rolling over from his belly to his back and he is doing a great job with his head control while he is sitting up.  He is very engaged in playing with his hanging toys on his play mat and has also started playing with some balls that we put in front of him while he sits in his seat.

Britt is starting to pay more attention to Ava and when he hears her in another room he starts looking around for her and then starts smiling once he spots her.  We have started to bath the children together, with Britt still in his little bath tub, and he loves this time with her.

We had Britt's four month check up yesterday and his stats are:
25 inches tall which is the 50th percentile
14 pounds 5 ounces which is the 40th percentile

Ava at four months was:
26 inches tall
13 pounds 8 ounces

Britt is in size 2 diapers and is barely fitting in his 3-6 months clothes.  He is doing a great job sleeping at night and is going from 7:30pm- 7am and I am still waking him at 10:30pm for a feeding.  He loves to talk to us through his cooing, lights up the room with his smile, and has the sweetest little laugh.

Buidling Update

I am back to work now and trying to juggle our home building, being a mother, and now my job.  Needless to say our home building has taken a backseat in my priority list but thankful I had a lot of the decisions finalized prior to going back to work.  I do miss going by our home everyday and it was exciting to do our trim walk through yesterday since it had been five days since I had gone by.  While I was there our garage doors were being installed and roofers were finishing up on the porches.  In the next week and a half our upper deck will be built, the tile should be started and once this is completed our cabinets will go in and then trim can start after this.  We had a long walk through for our trim and had our must list and our wish list.  I am really excited about all of our ideas but have to wait to hear back on the cost before we can finalize this.  Tomorrow I am finalizing our lighting after and then after this we still need to select interior wall colors, pick a stain for our cement porches, and lastly landscaping and then we should be done!

I am so excited to move into our home!

Last week the hardwoods were installed, the brick wall around the lower deck was completed, and the arca stone was added to the outdoor entrance.
