Britt James- 2 months old

Our handsome little man turned 2 months old this last week and we are falling more and more in love with him.  He is cooing up a storm and this morning even Travis mentioned how sweet his little coos are.

Britt had his 2 month wellness check up on Monday and this big boy weighed in at 11 pounds which is in the 50th percentile and he is 24 inches long which in the 90th percentile.  For comparison Ava was 10 pounds and 6 ounces and 22 3/4 inches long.

While Britt may weigh more and is taller than Ava was this age, Ava was ahead developmentally.  Ava focused more, was smiling more, and was able to hold her head up during tummy time.  Ava also roller over from her front to her back at this age which is a big milestone.  Britt on the other hand is not doing any of these things and it is partially my fault for not giving him as much tummy time as he needs.  All week we have been working on tummy time and while he does not fuss, he also does not try to lift his head and instead will move is feet and he is able to turn himself around by doing this.  Since he is not trying to lift his head during tummy time, we have been giving him lots of time in his bumpo which helps strengthen his neck muscles.

In the sleep department he continues to be a champ and spoil us and last night was night eleven that he has gone without his 10:30 pm feed going between 7-8 hours between his last feed at 7:00pm until and waiting until around 2am-3am.  Last night he went the longest at 9 hours which was amazing!  Soon I want to start waking him at 10:30pm to feed in hopes he will go until 6:30am but then again I do not want to jinx this great streak that we are on.

He is still in size 1 diapers and I really believe that the Pampers Baby Dry's has worked miracles on his sleeping.  Before we switched he would wake 2-3 times in the night because he had a wet diaper but since these are more absorbent a wet diaper no longer bothers him and he stays asleep at night.  So he does not get a diaper rash I also apply Aquaphor during each diaper change which acts as a skin barrier.  I still use this on Ava even though she is basically out of diapers and she has only had one diaper rash ever so I swear by using Aquaphor.  It also works great in the winter time mixed with lotion to help moisturize skin.

Britt continues to be a laid back baby and goes with the flow unless he is tired or hungry.  His big sister loves him to pieces and is always checking on him to make sure that he is okay.  I cannot wait for when Britt is old enough to start playing with Ava.

He is so not interested in doing any work during tummy time.
